"POKEMON: THE FIRST MOVIE" IS BEYOND
A review by Michael Fitz-Gibbon
I liked this short feature. It was nice to see Pokemon from the Gold/Silver game(s). The Pokedex narrating was pretty cool, and Of course the story was nice. I liked the American music just as much as the music in the Japanese version that I saw. Rating: 4 out of 5 Pokeballs.
Mewtwo Strikes Back
"COOL!" is an understatement. It was absolutely fabulous. It was very well dubbed, there was good music overall, and I liked it. Although, I think a scene was cut out. Wasn't there supposed to be a scene with Jessie, James, Meowth, and Giovanni talking? Sometimes they would mess up certain Pokemon names, which was forgivable. The song playing during the clone battle scene wasn't as cool as the action music playing during the Japanese version of it. But "Brother My Brother" wasn't as bad as some other songs I've heard. There was obvious signs of computer animation, which was cool. I also liked the American title screen much better than the Japanese one. The movie was very very very good. One of the best movies I've ever seen. Rating: 5 out of 5 Pokeballs.
P.S. The closing sequences were cool. They should've played more of M2M's "Don't Say You Love Me" though. I love that song!
