Movie opinion by Kelli
All in all, it was a good movie... however, the dubbing wasn't exactly great... for example:
1. They called 'Scyther' an 'Alakazam'... you'd think that Rachel Lillis and Eric Stuart would know an Alakazam from a Scyther by now... wouldn't you?
2. One of the trainers continuously called his 'Pidgeot' a 'Pidgeotto'. Pidgeot clearly has a longer crest and a larger body. The Pokemon was truly a Pidgeot, NOT a Pidgeotto.
3. The soundtrack totally did NOT go well with the scene. For example, the song 'Brother my Brother' was a kinda happy-sounding song, played during the fighting scene. The only songs that went with the scenes were 'Vacation', 'Pokemon Theme', and 'Catch Me if you Can'.
Pikachu's Vacation was cool, if not a bit wierd at parts. Those Pokemon running across the screen didn't really have anything to do with the plot, but it made me burst out laughing when I saw them... especially the Bellsprout, Jigglypuff, and Farfetch'd.
All in all, the movie was cool, and I wouldn't mind seeing it again, or even getting it on video. Out of 5 stars, I'd rate Pokemon: The First Movie at 3 and a half stars.
